It’s not every day you get the opportunity to pedal alongside one of the greatest legends in world cycling, but this will be a reality for those who participate in the Giro de Rigo 2022, a two-challenge cycling event that will star the medalist Olympian RigobertoUrán (London 2012), winner of stage 17 of the Vuelta a España 2022 that just finished on September 11th.
However, there are only 100 spots left for people to enjoy this first edition of the Giro de Rigo Costa Rica that will take place on November 27th with departure and arrival at the Pedregal Events Center.
In addition to rubbing shoulders with the Colombian cyclist, his compatriots Sergio Higuita and Daniel Felipe Martínez will be on the starting line. Higuita stands out for being part of the German Bora-Hansgrohe team in the UCI World Tour category and for having ridden the Big Three of cycling. For his part, Martínez has a victory in the Douphinecriterium on his resume. Before the starting signal, special activities will be carried out for the participants.

Tour details
The Giro will have two challenges: the Jaguar Challenge and the Hummingbird Challenge.The 60 km Hummingbird Challenge will start at the Pedregal Events Center and when leaving they will go towards the center of San Joaquín de Flores in Heredia, then they will continue through Santa Bárbara and Carrizal to later turn left and head towards the center of Alajuela, San José neighborhoods in the sector of La Trinidad, La Garita, Turrúcares, La Guácima and finally Belén.
For its part, the Jaguar challenge of 120 km will have the same start until reaching Carrizal, once there they will continue towards Varablanca, passing through Poasito and Poás and heading back along the old Alajuela highway through Cacao, Barrio San José, La Garita, Turrúcares, La Guácima and finally Belén.

The Giro de Rigo is a cycling event that was born four years ago in Colombia by the elite cyclist Rigoberto Urán.Rigo is recognized worldwide for being part of the American team EF Education-NIPPO in the UCI World Tour category and for having obtained the second position in the Girod’Italia 2013 and 2014, and the second position in the Tour de France 2017.
