The weekend will bring more stable conditions and rising temperatures across much of Costa Rica, after several days marked by wind and humidity associated with cold front No. 17.

This is the forecast of the National Meteorological Institute (NMI), which points to a decrease in wind intensity and humidity over Central America.

“Weather conditions will be more stable across the country compared to recent days. In addition, both wind intensity and humidity are expected to decrease over Central America,” the institute explained.

As a result, this change will allow for an increase in daytime temperatures and a mostly warm environment across much of the country.

Friday

This Friday, the country woke up to mostly clear skies and partial humidity that will gradually increase towards the Caribbean coast.

However, during the afternoon, there could be very localized rains in parts of the Caribbean, especially in mountainous areas.

There is also a chance of isolated rainfall in the north of the South Pacific Gulf.

“In the Central Valley, occasional gusts are expected in the morning, while cloud cover could increase toward the western sectors as the day progresses,” said the Meteorological Service.

For its part, the North Pacific will have mostly sunny conditions, although with moderate trade winds, particularly in the northernmost sectors of the region.

Weekend

Looking ahead to the weekend, the IMN notes that atmospheric stability will be more pronounced compared to recent days.

However, the arrival of sea breezes could bring isolated showers in the afternoons in the Central Pacific, South, and far west of the Central Valley.

No significant precipitation is expected for the rest of the country.

“The windy pattern characteristic of this time of year will return next week, when the trade winds strengthen again over the country’s mountain ranges,” the Institute said.
