The Santa Inés Educational Center once again made its mark among the elite of international cheerleading by being crowned World Champion of Schools and Colleges in the United States, in the Traditional REC 11-18 Y category.
“It means a huge responsibility and a deep sense of pride. Officially representing Costa Rica in an event of this magnitude is the result of years of disciplined work, planning, and commitment to the sport. It also confirms that Costa Rican cheerleading has the level and seriousness necessary to compete at the highest international level,” said Kenneth Gamboa, coach of the Santa Inés Educational Center cheerleading team.
The Costa Rican institution defeated Germany’s Flying Bulls team in the final and won the bronze medal in the Traditional REC 12 Y category, after competing against renowned American academies such as Tribe Elite and S. Catherine.
These results reaffirm Santa Inés’ high competitive level on the global stage, after repeating its achievements in 2019 and 2024.
“We firmly believe in a comprehensive education. Our international track record shows that when academic training is combined with organized sports, students develop leadership, confidence, emotional management, and a sense of belonging. Cheerleading has become a cornerstone of education at Santa Inés, where high performance goes hand in hand with human values,” said Orieta Morux, general director of the Santa Inés Educational Center.
The most recent performance confirms the consistency of a sports project that has managed to sustain itself over time and adapt to the demands of the highest level.
To participate in this global competition, the institution completed the necessary paperwork with the Costa Rican Cheerleading and Dance Federation (FECAD), a process that guarantees national representation and supports principles such as competitive fairness, athlete safety, comprehensive training, and real sporting prospects.
“The Costa Rican Cheer and Dance Federation supports and backs the official national team, but the greatest honor belongs to those who make the greatest effort: the athletes and their families, and the institution, who chose to follow the processes, respect the institutional framework, and proudly carry the name of Costa Rica on the international stage,” said Guillermo Quesada, president of FECAD.
The performance of the Santa Inés Educational Center positions it as one of the strongest references in cheerleading in Costa Rica, promoting the discipline both nationally and in high-level competitive settings.
