The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – A group of 5 mothers who were appalled by the child beating situation that occurred on Monday in Los Chiles, decided to move from words to actions and are organizing a march against child abuse.

Georgina Gurdián, one of the organizers, explained that they want a quiet and friendly place to forget the death of this two-year-old child who suffered a terrible end.

Gurdián expects entire families will participate in this protest against childhood aggression, and is asking parents involve their children in this activity.

They are also asking participants to wear white as a symbol of protest and also carry signs with messages of support.

Additionally, the march will be sponsored and supported by The Costa Rica News will take place on the 15th of February (9:00am) in the Metropolitan Park La Sabana in downtown San Jose. Everybody who would like to join us and stand up against child maltreatment is invited.

During the demonstration we will release colored balloons to commemorate all the children who have been victims of abuse. Please bring your own balloons and come in white clothes if you can.

We would love to see you there! Check out the map below for the location or our Facebook invite for more details.
