Costa Rica has positioned itself in the whole world as one of the favorite tourist destinations. For people who want to discover new cultures and impressive landscapes, far and wide, the Costa Rican territory is considered one of the richest in biodiversity.
This achievement is due to the great variety of tourist attractions, and for always being at the forefront of the development of sustainable tourism.
That is why the prestigious magazine “Condé Nast Traveler Spain” gave our country the recognition “International Destination 2018”. The event was held at the Casino de Madrid, in Spain.
On its 10th anniversary, the magazine sought to reward the best destinations, traveler solidarity, hotels, resorts, spas, urban and family hotels, airlines, as well as national and international cruises.
Thanks to the vote of the attending public and followers of the website www.traveler.es, Costa Rica managed to enter among the 10 finalists. In this regard, it was competing with destinations such as Azores, Cape Town, Mexico City, Scotland, Hawaii, Kerala in India, Nicaragua, Puglia in Italy, and Samaná in the Dominican Republic.
María Amalia Revelo, Costa Rica’s Minister of Tourism, acknowledged the importance of this award for the country. Also, she said: “Without a doubt, receiving the recognition as International Destination of the Year by one of the most relevant and well-known magazines in the world is an incentive to continue increasing in a strategic manner, the actions tending to position Costa Rica as a destination in constant evolution, capable of offering unique experiences to visitors and, above all, that can be enjoyed 365 days a year”.
This beautiful territory has become, once again, the N° 1 choice for tourists from all over the world.
