San Jose Costa Rica – Toditico is the name of the application for cell phones launched last week by the Costa Rica tourism sector, and through which employers expect to promote their tourism and Costa Rica vacation services to Costa Rica residents and tourist.
The application is now available for cell phones with Android and IOS operating systems, and can be downloaded from Google and Apple Play Store, reported the National Chamber of Tourism (Canatur) during the presentation of Toditico.
The tool available is version 1.0, which provides immediate information about the country’s tourist attractions as well as special packages and deals offered by 40 touristic companies.
“This is the first stage of the application, where you can download content about our tourist attractions; however, version 2.0 which we hope to launch soon, will include features that allow the integration with social networks and visual materials from enterprises” said Jason Alvarado, executive director of Canatur.
The content available on Toditico is classified in the categories of accommodation and lodging, tour operators, agencies, airlines, car rental, restaurants, transportation, medical tourism and other services, where the user has the option of doing a general or detailed search by province.
The information is organized in such a way to give priority to companies which upload special packages, and provide detailed information about offers and prices as well as contact information.
On the other hand, the application has available information to the general public such as phone and fax number, email and web address of all companies affiliated with Canatur.
How does it work? First download the free application from App Store or Google Play. Click on Toditico logo and this will be immediately installed on the mobile device. Once installed, select the category you wish to check. Click on the picture of each company to see their promotional information. You can call or go to the website of the company from the application.
One of the advantages of Toditico is that entrepreneurs can manage the advertising space of their businesses and regularly update the information which will be presented to users.
