San Jose Train Service Will be Shut Down Over the Holidays for Yearly Maintenance

The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The train service provided by the Instituto Costarricense de Ferrocarriles  (Incofer) will be suspended from December 24 to January 5, according to an announcement made today.

Train users to Heredia and Cartago will be able to use the service at the usual times until Wednesday, December 24.

Incofer President, William Santana, explained that during the next two weeks they will be using the time to clean railways and verify their status. Also, railway cars will be reviewed to ensure that they’re in optimal condition.

Santana also said they like to use this time of year because people are on vacation and they have more time to perform the work down to the last detail. (Amelia Rueda)
