    Connect with your feminine nature

I am not only a fluent Spanish-English reader/speaker but also a bi-cultural person who has a broad solid background. I also have a passionate interest in different expressions of music, especially many American styles and their combinations (Folk-Country, Jazz, Pop, Rhythm and Blues, Rock, Soul, and so on), dance, stage and screen, and some other forms of artistic expression.

Why we should be in tune with our cyclical nature and how to reconnect with our feminine Spirit?

“Each month a woman’s body undergoes a series of changes, many of which occur without her being consciously aware of them. These include variations in hormone balances, vaginal temperature, uterine composition and quantity, body weight, vitamin concentrations, water retention, heart rate, breast size and consistency, concentration levels, vision and hearing, psychic ability, pain threshold and many others.”

There are too many women giving their power away to patriarchal ideologies, taking drugs to stop their menstrual cycle, using cancer-causing chemical bleached tampons to stem the flow, seeing their Menses as an inconvenient and something they should be ashamed of?  My intention is to educate women about how magical your menstruation really IS!

The reason you should be in tune with your cyclical nature is to connect with and balance your inner feminine.

Here are 5 ways to get in touch with your moon cycle:

    1. Track your menstrual cycle

You should have a comprehensive understanding of how your body works so that you can take ownership of your health.  I’ve found that one of the easiest ways to cultivate body awareness is to chart the signs and symptoms of your cycle each month.  You can use free online apps like “period calendar” or Flow.

Pay attention to physical symptoms like your skin, your breasts and be aware of your emotions that arise in different stages of your cycle.  Once you start to become aware of how your body and menstrual cycle work, you can track your fertility and see irregularities in your cycle and you can determine if you have hormonal imbalances.

    1. Love your body

Focus on how you want to feel, rather than how you want to look.  We tend to get stuck on our outside appearances and left with feelings of unworthiness and shame.  Listen to your body during your cycle if you feel tired take the time to rest if you feel annoyed to take the time to do the things that make you light up and feel relaxed.  During your bleeding time it’s best to retract yourself from social events to be with yourself in a loving supporting environment. Take time to journal about how you feel during the bleeding time and remember to give thanks for your cycle, expressing your gratitude for such a gift to be women.

    1.  Connect with your feminine energy

We live in a deeply patriarchal world, and as a result, women feel that they need to act like men, in order to be accepted or feel acknowledged.  Women ar taught that their emotions are irrational and they are imbalanced, that they must be on their “period” when they experience sensitivity.  This in return leads to disconnection from the female intuition and ultimately disempowers many women in today’s age.

To reconnect with your power and your feminine energy you can play with the following ideas:

    • Nature:  Spend time nature, let your feet touch the earth, pick flowers and look at the moon
    • Dance:  We are so caught up in worrying about what others think when we dance, however, I encourage you to dance like nobody’s watching! This helps with being flowey and playful.
    • Creative expression: Art, pottery or even cooking

Do you suffer from these most common monthly discomforts?

    • Cramping
    • Bloating
    • Irritability
    • Fatigue
    • Pain
    • Headaches
    • Backache

You no longer have to suffer alone!  I can help!

It has been proven that women are able to have comfortable and regular menstrual cycles without the use of hormones and toxic medication. With a few lifestyle changes, including diet, sleep, the reduction of stress and asana, our menstrual cycle can be something that we celebrate as it represents the gift of life and femininity. In addition to the effort women put into a MoonStruation program, our attitudes towards menstruation need to change. We are not our mind, however, our thoughts influence the way we perceive the world and therefore positive thought generates positive action.
