I’ve always been attracted to crystals from a young age, however I was very closed-minded and the idea that energy from a rock could help me in everyday life seemed airy fairy…and so my exploration started. I grew up with this notion that crystals were evil, magic and dark in some ways. Now I own a ton of crystals! I offer workshops teaching people about the power of crystals. I respect and love each one of my crystals!
Every particular in nature, a leaf, a drop, a crystal, a moment of time is related to the whole, and partakes of the perfection of the whole. Ralph Waldo Emerson
Wikipedia defines crystals as “A crystal or crystalline solid is a solid material whose constituents (such as atoms, molecules or ions) are arranged in a highly ordered microscopic structure, forming a crystal lattice that extends in all directions. In addition, macroscopic single crystals are usually identifiable by their geometrical shape, consisting of flat faces with specific, characteristic orientations. The scientific study of crystals and crystal formation is known as crystallography. The process of crystal formation via mechanisms of crystal growth is called crystallization or solidification.
Crystals are merely tools, they are energy in motion and can be used to align, enhance and attract energies to ourselves. Crystals have been used for thousands of years all over the world. How you use the crystal is up to you. Perhaps you like the way it looks or feels and that’s fine. However crystals can be utilized in healing, to cleanse energy around your home and environment, enhance meditation and manifestation practices. Crystals assist in raising your vibration and level of consciousness.
How to choose a crystal that is right for you? I normally pick up the one that grabs my attention first and feel them out. I suggest you hold the crystal in your hands and connect with the energy of the crystal. You can also look at the healing properties of different stones and then purchase one that you can program to assist you in your healing journey.
Its very important to clean your crystals as they store energy. My favorite way to cleanse my crystals would be smudging; you can use sage or Palo Santo. You can also place the crystals on Selenite or a large crystal cluster or wash your crystals in the river or under running water (not all crystals). You can also place it in brown rice overnight or use a crystal cleanser. Porous or friable crystals may be damaged by water so they are best placed in the sun or on a clear quarts or carnelian for a few hours. Place your crystals in the sun or under the full moon to recharge. Crystals should be cleansed every time you use them on yourself or others.
You also want to program your crystals for specific intentions. By doing this you allow the crystal to work with your energy for a specific purpose. To program your crystal, hold it in your dominate hand or in front of you and focus on your intention. Imagine that energy flow into the crystal and setting the intention. It can be as simple as setting your intention to remove negative energies from your home, to help you heal a pain in your body or to help you manifest prosperity. There are no rules. You can store your stones and crystals together in a bag, but delicate crystals should be wrapped separately and kept in a box when not in use to avoid scratching them. I like to display my crystals around my house infusing my home with the crystal energies.
