Costa Rica Seizes 404 kilos of Cocaine in a Guatemala Bus

    The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The  authority in Costa Rica seized 404 kilos of cocaine on the Nicaraguan border that was being transported by a bus with Guatemalan registration, said the security ministry said in a statement.

    The drugs were hidden in a secret compartment under the floor of the bus that was discovered during an official review by the Police Drug Control in the post of Peñas Blancas on the border of Nicaragua.

    Authorities arrested the bus driver and his companion, who are both Salvadoran and the only occupants of the transport unit.

    The two men arrested face charges of international drug trafficking, a crime in Costa Rica which is punishable by a maximum of 20 years in prison. (EFE)
