The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – This morning the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (ARESEP) proposed to reduce electricity prices by up to 20%.
This reduction would apply in the second quarter, meaning that April’s electricity bill would reflect the decrease.
According to the institution, a user who consumes 300 kW/h would have a reduction of ¢3,600 a month, working out to between 8% and 15% savings.
This reduction in rates would come about through increased energy production by wind turbines and hydropower. (ADN)
