The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Thousands of Nicaraguans have left Costa Rica in recent days to spend the holidays at home.
Immigration authorities of Costa Rica reported that a plan to work 24 hours straight has enabled swift movement of travelers at the border of Peñas Blancas since last weekend.
The Security Ministry said in a statement that they plan to handle the movement of some 200,000 people during Christmas and New Year.
In Costa Rica, a country of 4.7 million people nearly 400,000 Nicaraguans live there who left their country in search of work in fields such as construction, agriculture, trade and domestic service. (EFE)
