The Los Tenores show will serve as a point of support to promote the work carried out by the Misión en Acción Foundation in the Carrillo canton, in the province of Guanacaste, where the public will appreciate top quality staging.
The Los Tenores appointment is scheduled for March 11th, starting at 7 p.m., (doors open at 5 p.m.) at the facilities of the Fundación Community Center with a capacity of up to a thousand people seated with air conditioning, located 400 meters west of the Sardinal de Carrillo Gas Station. According to the organizers, the funds raised thanks to this musical event will be used to support the projects developed by the Foundation -created in 2020- in Carrillo.
Working with vulnerable groups
Arnold “Skip” Preston, Director of the Foundation, states that during all this time they have developed intense social work with vulnerable groups in the community in fields such as health, job training, sporting, educational, and cultural events, among others.
“We have carried out an intense agenda of initiatives in a wide variety of fields, always with the objective of activating a positive transformation in the community through holistic programs based on compassion and empowerment that put God’s love into action,” Preston said.
The Foundation’s figures indicate that since the beginning of its work in Carrillo de Guanacaste, it has assisted more than 25,000 families with food for a year due to the pandemic and also provided free medical assistance to another similar number of families in vulnerable conditions.
It currently offers educational courses through alliances with the National Learning Institute, the Ministry of Public Education and the Costa Rican and National Universities, among others. It also provides various workshops in areas of music, art, sports; In addition, through the medical clinic, it assists the community in this field.
Ambitious supportive goal
For the next 4 years, the goal was set to assist some 100,000 people in crisis, 25,000 free services, mentoring 20,000 children, involve 10,000 volunteers, vocationally train 2,000 adults, involve 1,500 missionaries in their initiatives and 500 internal doctors.
“Through actions such as music, art, theater, sports events and Health Fairs, we have approached the local population to give them a helping hand in times of crisis through food assistance, medical care, clothing donations, shelter in emergency situations and protection in general,” said Preston.
Total quality
The show Los Tenores is made up of the vocal group of Arnoldo Castillo, Joaquín Yglesias, Rodolfo González and Ricardo Bernal. “Those who attend to see this meeting will be able to appreciate the quality of the staging, which is the best in the country. For Guanacaste it is an honor to receive these talents who are pride for the culture of Costa Rica. The Foundation executes its projects through the V.O.I.C.E.S philosophy, which stands for Volunteers, Organizations, Institutions, Churches, Companies and Specialists, which aims to combine the efforts of these groups to create a multiplier effect in Carrillo.
“In all the time that we have been operating, we have managed to set up community learning programs, social impact research, strategic partnerships with public-private institutions, in addition, one-on-one counseling, essential life skills workshops, support groups for youth, children and seniors, we offer vocational/technical training, tutoring and study groups,” added Mr. Preston.
