The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The organizers of the Zapote New Year’s festival have secured all health permits and required paperwork to kick off the party according to schedule on Saturday, December 25, confirmed the Ministry of Health.
December 19 was the deadline for organizers of the San José festival to submit their applications to the health authorities to obtain permits.
The director of the South Central Area Health, Guillermo Flores, said they needed three permits: one for the area of mechanical toys, one for the bull ring and one more for the National Tope, which is celebrated on December 26.
Once the fiesta is underway, the Ministry of Health will dedicate a group of 32 professionals to conduct daily inspections.
Las Fiestas de San José will start on December 25 and end on January 4. (Amelia Rueda)
