The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The Drug Control Police of Costa Rica (PCD) destroyed 73,259 marijuana plants found in an area of 7,174 square meters in the province of Guanacaste (Pacific north), reported the Ministry of Security.
The police action, which began on October 4th and ended today, involved six PCD, in collaboration with 10 officers of the Police Intervention Unit and three officers of the security forces.
Authorities have arrested suspects in the case.
According to official data, so far this year security authorities have destroyed Costa Rica 1.3 million marijuana plants. (EFE)
