Costa Rica: Authorities Seize 2 Tons of Cocaine on Caribbean Coast

    A boat was detained that were transporting two tons of cocaine, was officials reported Tuesday.

    The seizure took place in Manzanillo, a town located in the southern Caribbean, after an aerial surveillance aircraft of the security forces detected a suspicious boat moving at high speed near the coast.

    “We’re talking about at least 50 packages of cocaine with about two tons of heroin” confirmed Security Minister Mario Zamora news conference.

    The five crew members of the vessel fled by land, said Zamora. Police speculate that origin was Colombia.
