Eight (8) aftershocks were recorded over 7 hours, after a 5.2 earthquake rocked Playa Palma Parrita, Puntarenas, on Friday, October 12th.
The largest aftershock was a magnitude of 3.8 in the Richter scale, while not very large is still large enough to cause serious damage especially to building, that undergone significant sharking this years from earlier seismic activities.

The earthquake was caused by shifting between the Coco and Caribbean plates.
There has been no significant damage reported.
