The Costa Rica News (TCRN) –This year three Costa Rican cyclists will compete in the World Cycling Championship: Gregory Brenes, Andrey Amador, and Edith Guillen.

The World Cup will be held in Florence, Italy, between September 21 and 29 this year.  The three cyclists were chosen for their outstanding participation internationally, said in a statement the Costa Rican Cycling Federation (FECOCI).

Amador ended in position 54 in the Tour de France last July, where he ran with the Movistar team. He is currently the most prominent cyclist of Costa Rica.

Brenes finished in sixth place in the Pro Challenge-Tour of Colorado in the United States last week, which allowed him to be elected for the World Cup.

Amador and Brenes will run the male World Route Test, consisting of 272 kilometers between the communities of Lucca and Firenze Mandela Forum, on September 29.

Edith Guillen September 28 will participate in the women’s road race of 140 kilometers between Montecatini and Firenze Mandela Forum on September 28. FNL
