The General Directorate of Civil Aviation declared a yellow alert at the 4 international airports in the country. This measure is taken in the context of the demonstrations made this week against the tax plan.
This was confirmed by Guillermo Hoppe, director of the entity, who indicated that the measure is due to a preventive rule. “All the security controls were increased in the perimeter areas of the airports, in the access posts to the terminals and in the most vital airport facilities. This is to ensure the safety of all passengers and operators”, said the head officer.
The airports that will have to undergo preventive measures are Juan Santamaría in Alajuela, Daniel Oduber in Liberia, Tobías Bolaños in Pavas and Limón.
