The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The sea breeze shelters brides and grooms who, in front of a beautiful and delicately decorated altar, swear their love with devotion, while guests – dressed in cool outfits – fondly attest the marriage.
Each chair, the hallways and even the sand have been decorated with tropical arrangements, petals and some fabrics. There is soft music, which does not compete for gaining attention, as this belongs to the intending spouses.
And a few steps away, the sea … a sometimes calm, sometimes spirited witness, but always unfathomable.
This idyllic picture is in one of our beautiful beaches and is not out of a tropical fairytale. It is reality which occurs more and more often in our country, according to figures from the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT).
Viviana Rudin, Head of Promotion of ICT, ensures that foreign-especially the United States, Canada and some European countries like Spain-valued multiple scenes that the country offers for lovers. But also the flight connectivity and proximity to different destinations.
Not surprisingly, she added, the company will focus with greater force on promotion in different markets in Costa Rica in the next three years as an ideal destination for weddings and honeymoons. A wedding in paradise is usually much cheaper than one in the States or Canada.
Popular sites like TheKnot.com placed Costa Rica as the top destination in Latin America for those who want to consummate their love, the sea breeze and the lush greenery of witnesses.
According to this site, every fourth wedding that is held in the region, takes place in this piece of land.
“The exotic locations, romantic atmosphere and the climate are just some of the reasons why more couples are saying, ‘Yes, I accept’ in Costa Rica. What sets Costa Rica from other wedding destinations apart, is its unique blend of natural atmosphere with luxury amenities, which allow couples to imbibe in nature while enjoying a supply of high-quality amenities”, wrote the publication.
Other sites also underline the country as Bridal Guide and International Living.

And she notes that customers also value the privacy that the country offers compared to other more massive destinations.
