The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The Festival of Light 2012 will take place in San Jose Costa Rica tonight at 6:00 pm.
The Festival of Light is held every year from the National Gymnasium until the San Juan de Dios Hospital and bends toward Second Avenue until 11th Street.
This year there will be 11 floats and 14 bands at the 17th edition of this festival. It is estimated that the Festival of Light will draw over 1 million.
Last year, seven float winners were awarded. The first three places were filled by Kolbi, Banco de Costa Rica and Claro floats, respectively.
The award for best band was taken by the College of Our Lady of the Abandoned and community band was Youth Band Orotina.
