This past week a decree for the reduction of selective consumption tax to new hybrid-electric cars was signed at the Presidential House.
Chinchilla announced that the decree will reduce taxes on hybrid-electric cars by 20%, which will be applicable to public transport vehicles such as buses and taxis on the first place. This type of vehicles will be allowed to circulate in the city every day, without any traffic restrictions.
Mario Rivera, manager of the Bank of Costa Rica, announced various credit lines with a total cost of $ 200 million intended to make it easier for Costa Ricans to purchase them. Hybrid-electric car are that not only environmentally friendly but also save fuel. LN
