    The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Celebrating the International Day of Elders, the Gerontological Association Costarricense (Ageco), reported that Costa Rica has the best quality of life in Central America.

    The ranking puts Costa Rica in fourth in Latin America, behind Chile, Uruguay and Argentina, where elder adults in the country enjoy relative affluence of a 81.43%.

    Globally, in 2012, 11% of the population was elderly, and by 2030 that number will be 16%, and by 2050 there will be 22% so the older adult communities will see exponential growth in the years to come.

    There classifications in which Costa Rica held the following ranking: income security at number 60, 11 for health, education and employment 48 and favorable environments held position 34 of the 91 countries examined.

    Costa Rican showed significant improvement in social effort made to improve the quality of life of older people.
