    National Theater Celebrating Its 117th Anniversary with Free Workshops

    The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The National Theatre is celebrating its 117th Anniversary with free workshops and talks, which begins on Monday, October 20 and runs until Sunday the 26th.

    The events were organized by the Theatre along with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

    On Monday, a workshop will be offered on techniques used for gold plating and will take place at 1:00 pm

    Attendees will learn techniques and ways to place the gold sheet on walls, furniture and decorations. The Restoration Department is responsible for hosting the training.

    After this, on Wednesday, October 23, a talk on the restoration of the National Theatre will be offered, where attendees will learn the various interventions and infrastructure changes in the last 22 years, with presentations on the paintings, replicas of sculptures as well as building the new stage floor.

    All lectures and workshops are free and hope to give the public an appreciation on the importance of this structure that marks much of the country’s history.

    Finally, on The 26th the National Theatre will be open and free to the public from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm for its official 117th anniversary. (Crhoy)
