Costa Rica Teatro Nacional San Jose (photo: Wiki Commons)”][/caption]San Jose [TCRN] – The International Film Festival 2012 “Peace with Earth” begins July 27 through August 4. The theme peace on Earth is dedicated to Mexico. The activities will be at various locations in San Jose Costa Rica.
The International Film Festival will present 80 film and video works themed “Peace with the Earth”, will promote works that focus on respect and solidarity and peaceful coexistence of peoples.
This year the festival will be held in the main building of the former Customs and film screening rooms Magaly, Variety Film, National Theatre, Melico Salazar, Customs and Theatre Dance and the National Auditorium.
Spain, Iran, Germany, Canada, and Chile will be part of the 30 international guests who will participate inf this year’s presentation.
This year, Mexico will be the guest of honor, as the focal point for the creation and evolution of Latin American cinema.
The judging panel is comprised of filmmakers and international and domestic producers. They will choose from among the 39 works to the winners.
The International Film Festival 2012 schedule:
Opening ceremony will be the July 27th at the National Theatre from 7:00 pm where a screening “Chisco and Rita” by Spanish filmmaker Fernando Trueba is presented.
Old Customs House from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm will become a resort center where there will be conservatories, lectures and forums with filmmakers.
