Venezuela President Hugo Chavez has been send shipment of diesel fuel to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad regime. According to reports three shipments recently and a fourth in the works.

State media reports, Venezuela’s energy minister said if Syria needs they will provide it, and that US foreign policy is not a concern of Venezuela.

Chavez and al-Assad have had ongoing relations and has openly criticized USA’s imperialist methods regarding Syria, and earlier this year passed a solidarity agreement with Syria.

There has been speculation that the shipments be being used for other purposes; they are port to port voyages with no outside control or monitoring mechanisms in place.
