The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The traditional Tope of San Jose began Wednesday afternoon. The riders are heading towards Paseo Colón.
The first group to enter the parade were the sponsors, then the rest of the horsemen started who had to wait until about noon.
A group of police officers guarded the entrance of participants this year because the measures were strengthened so that those who have not paid the registration will not be part of the parade.
The officers indicated that everything ran smoothly and that there were no incidents that required attention.
As usual, the authorities allowed the consumption of alcohol, but not its sale. So far there are no reports of violations of this provision.
