Heavy downpours the past 2 days have affected major roads passing through the country, this according to reports from the Emergency Committee of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT).
According to David Melendez, Head of Emergency MOPT is waiting for the rivers to subside in order to assess the damage that has been caused.
“What we have worried about the situation of a bridge in Coris, which is that where you are working,” said Melendez.
He added that the route to Carthage is a problem spot because the ground is very soft. “The problem is that all these areas are potato farms, the ground is very soft, then the water falls on these farms and will give the road” said the official.
