From the environmental and ecological sector, we declare that this crisis due to COVID-19, should be a turning point to create more economic solidarity, seek environmental, energy, and gender justice, and carry out comprehensive agro-ecological agrarian reform. To grow as a society for facing another major crisis: the climate crisis.
These weeks have shown that it is possible to create conditions for improving access to water in a matter more equitably and avoiding hoarding and waste. The importance of local food production and the urgency of strengthening food sovereignty has been demonstrated. A strong, universal and quality public health system also is essential. And those workers in the public sector are the ones who move this country every day and make made it grow, despite all the unfair attacks by all the political parties present today in the Bicentennial Government.
