    Eight Companies Under Investigation of the Costa Rica Nicaragua Border Trail are Still Employed

    The Costa Rica Nicaragua border trail legal issues still are ongoing. Eight of the 35 companies that are being investigated because of in the construction of the Border Trail are still employed by the Government on other projects. In addition, five of them received important awards from the National Roads Authority (CONAVI), in the last five years.

    Hegg Congresswoman Patricia Perez, president of the Revenue Commission and Public Expenditure investigating anomalies in the construction of the road, said “it is contradictory that the State is continuing to employ companies are being investigated for the Trail case”.

    In addition, the deputy asked the CONAVI the copy that was sent to the Office of Public Ethics, about paying bills that are pending for these companies, due to the theft of information made public by the Ministry.
