    Costa Rica tops the list for the first time in the last Latin American Democratic Development Index in 2012, prepared by the consulting Polilat Argentina and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation

    The 2012 Latin American Democratic Development Index report has been prepared on the basis of indicators that reflect statistics agencies of countries and international organizations..

    In this edition of the Latin American Democratic Development Index Costa Rica is in first place in the regional ranking, and this is the result of an increase of over 17% of the overall index score. This product is the best score obtained in all dimensions, most strongly in that measuring social and economic performance, but also denotes the impact.

    After Costa Rica, the Democratic Development Index the next highest development was hile and Uruguay. In the group of “medium development” are Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Panama and Peru, while in the chapter “under development” include Colombia, El Salvador, Paraguay and Honduras. In the section “minimum development” are Nicaragua, Venezuela, Ecuador, Guatemala, Dominican Republic and Bolivia.
