    Christmas Classics Reach the Seven Provinces of Costa Rica with More than 45 Concert Bands

    The Band Directorate closes 2023 with its Special Concert Season “Welcome Christmas”, composed of 57 presentations, of which, more than 45 will be Christmas and New Year’s music.This was announced by the Ministry of Culture and Youth (MCJ).

    The agenda of activities continues from this Sunday, December 10th until next December 24th.According to Juan LoaizaMayorga, director of the San José Concert Band, the repertoire will include works that, due to their lyrics, their music, or the context of their creation, are heard mainly during the Christmas season.

    This repertoire includes: “Sleigh Ride,” by Leroy Anderson; “Merry Christmas”, by José Feliciano; “The Old Year”, by Tony Camargo, among other pieces such as “Blanca Navidad”, “RinRin”, “Bell on Bell”; the inevitable “Silent Night”, among many others.

    “We invite the followers of the different Concert Bands to the performances, hoping that they enjoy, that they share with us these beautiful days of Christmas, together with their family or friends, with a repertoire that will bring them joy and a lot of peace; We hope to see them at the different concerts,” said Loaiza.Classics of the Christmas season will arrive in the seven provinces.     For his part, Daniel Araya Robles, director of Bandas, expressed: “We have reached the most beautiful time of the year because it is the time to get together, to give thanks as a family for another year, for the learning and for what we can build year with love in the company of the family.”

    “For this reason, the Directorate of Bands of the Ministry of Culture and Youth and its seven Beneméritas Concert Bands will offer a season of more than 40 Christmas concerts throughout the country to give the gift of the experience of music,” he added.
