The heat continues to be turned up on President Laura Chinchilla after it was revealed that she used a private jet owned by Gabriel Morales Fallon who is a Colombian business man suspected of having links to narco trafficking, and was also questioned by authorities in Costa Rica for money laundering.

This past week, Chinchilla announced that presidential aide Irene Pacheco and the head of intelligence and security, Mauricio Boraschi were both resigning.

President Chinchilla had used the private jet in earlier this year in March to fly to Venezuela for the funeral of Hugo Chavez, and then again last weekend for a private trip to Peru, to attend a diplomats son’s wedding.

Gabriel Morales Fallon, was under investigation by Costa Rican authorities for possible ties to drug trafficking.

Communication Minister, Francisco Chacon said that Fallon “tricked” him.

Attorney General, Jorge Chavarria, confirmed his office is looking into possible charges against the President, after a complaint that accuses the president of violating the Act Against Corruption and Illicit Enrichment.

The Attorney General’s Office said that it was in a “preliminary investigation process of the events that occurred last weekend.”
