Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic, Carlos Roverssi, said that in recent days the president extended an invitation as part of a tour to Latin America and make a stop in Costa Rica.
Jinping became President of China on March this year and would be his first visit to the region as President.
In August last year, Chinchilla visited China to strengthen bilateral relations and has had several high level governmental meeting both here in Costa Rica and China.
This invitation comes just a week after President Barack Obama, visited Costa Rica, as Chinchilla looks to stepp her international agenda.
