The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The bishop of the Costa Rican city of Cartago, José Francisco Ulloa, said that there is a possibility that the second miracle of John Paul II, which will lead to his canonization, has been with a woman from Costa Rica.
The Cardinals and Bishops members of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, headed by Cardinal Angelo Amato, today approved the second miracle through the intercession of John Paul II will lead to the proclamation as a saint of Pope Wojtyla, but it is unclear from which one it is.
The Costa Rican priest said the Vatican has conducted research into the Costa Rica miracle and that the case information and the identity of the woman, shall be released shortly.
News reports indicate that the woman suffered a brain aneurysm, which was cured by the miracle of John Paul II, at a yet unspecified date.
Bishop Ulloa confirmed that this woman lives in the community of Three Rivers, in the province of Cartago, but gave no further details, saying that not precisely known.
“We are very happy and pleased that Costa Rica may have this privilege. All Costa Ricans should feel very happy and cheerful,” he said.
“We hope the date (for canonization) will be announced and that this miracle was performed by John Paul II in Costa Rica,” said the bishop.
The date of the ceremony will be set by the pontiff during a consistory of cardinals.
The miracle that led to the beatification of John Paul II was held in the person of a French nun Marie Simon Pierre, who was cured so inexplicable to the science of Parkinson’s disease.
To be canonized, a second miracle needs to be attributed to John Paul II, but this must happen after being beatified.
