The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Angel Gabriel is name the National Children’s Trust (PANI), recorded for the newborn baby that was found abandoned in a property in San Isidro del General on October 8.
As explained Fanny Lamb, spokeswoman for PANI, the decision to register the baby was with the respect that everyone the right to a name and an identity, due to the delay in investigating the child’s relatives.
The Civil Registry has special cases for newborns, because in the process of researching ancestry and who is the father and mother, you can not make an entry as usual.
According to Lamb, despite the technical direction of PANI to expedite the process of location of the three abandoned babies, the results of DNA tests have not yet been delivered by the prosecution.
“Until there is certainty of maternity, the baby will stay with PANI in Perez Zeledon during this time,” she said.
After determining the results of DNA tests, PANI can proceed to place children, not with the mother because they do not qualify after what happened, but with a relative, cousin, uncle, grandfather, or maybe dad, by law entitled to them as a child.
