Gas Stations and Fuel Carriers Strategizing National Strike

|

Costa Rica News – Costa Ric’s gas station industry, including carriers and fuel retailers, will meet in next week to define the strategy which will begin a national strike, the first of 2013.

The effort is to put pressure on the Government for the alleged breaches in the Ministry of Environment Energy and Mares (MINAE) with the entire sector.

Fuel carriers have insisted that the Directorate of Hydrocarbons MINAE has not complied with the agreements they reached earlier in September. In addition, want monitoring and modifications to service stations in accordance to standards for proper operation.

The leaders in the sector have already agreed to the meeting next Thursday to define the organization of the strike.
