The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The Regulatory Authority for Public Services (ARESEP) could be making an extreme increase in annual mechanical review fees (Riteve) of up to 202%. For light vehicles, the current rate is 9,930 colones but it might cost 30,030 colones soon.

The request also includes an increase between 142% and 200% for heavy vehicles and agricultural machinery. In this case the heavy vehicles would pay 27,190 colones and agricultural vehicles must pay 14,090 colones.

Carolina Mora, ARESEP spokeswoman, told crhoy. com that the requested increase is in the admissibility and review stage.

Mora added that the most important thing is that the methodology by the Road Safety Council (Cosevi) is published. (Source: Crhoy)
