    Women Entrepreneurs in Costa Rica Have Access to ¢750 million to Subsidize Their Businesses

    Women entrepreneurs wishing to start their own business or who want to consolidate their businesses now have access a to ¢750 million in loans with favorable terms.

    This is a special line of credit than those offered by the financial market which were created by the Fundecooperación Development to fund projects focused on women in the country. The organization gives support and training for the development of the new companies or businesses.

    The promoter of Fundecooperación Development, Kattia Rojas, explained that they are individualized loans that conform to the business or enterprise of every woman.

    This special credit line for women allows each entrepreneur to get the money they need at a lower interest rate and payment dates that fit the reality of the business.

    The credit manager of Fundecooperación Development, Enrique Meza, said that in 2014, 44 percent of the women-only loans were accessed, about ¢185 million.
