The Costa Rican Institute of Sports and Recreation (ICODER) says that everything is ready for the upcoming Wheelchair Basketball Paralympics.  There will be a press conference this Tuesday, October 18th, at the National Stadium.

The Eddy Cortes National Gymnasium, located in La Sabana Metropolitan Park, has been ratified by ICODER as the headquarters for the Central American and Caribbean wheelchair basketball tournament, “Center Basket Costa Rica 2016”.  It will be held from October 25 – 30th.

The Paralympic Federation of Costa Rica were delighted with the ICODER announcement to ratify the headquarters.  This will allow Costa Rican athletes here, and other participants in the region to continue training and working towards the upcoming tournament.

Center Basket Costa Rica 2016 will bring together teams from Central America and the Caribbean, and these teams will be looking to qualify for the American Wheelchair Basketball Cup.

For this reason the Paralympics Federation of Costa Rica invites the media to a Breakfast Press Conference to be held on Tuesday, October 18, at 9 am in the Old Administration Hall at the National Stadium.   The Conference will be outlining the full details of the event, announcing the teams which will be participating as well as the list of national teams, and presenting the new national coach, Colombian, Freddy Velazquez.

Those invited to the Conference include the Minister of Sports, Carolina Mauri, the National Director of ICODER, Alba Quesada, and the President of the Olympic Committee of Costa Rica, Henry Núñez.
