Latin America News – Venezuela authorities filed a formal complaint in a court in Caracas against an American filmmaker who is accused of being an intelligence agent.
The Californian Timothy Hallett Tracy is accused of conspiracy for criminal association and using false documents.
Tracy will be held 45 days while a judge examines the charges against him.
This week, Interior Minister Miguel Rodriguez Torres, said Timothy Tracy Hallet funded student protests after the disputed presidential elections earlier this month.
Tracy’s friends say he was in Venezuela working on a documentary and the U.S. government defended his innocence.
Nine people died and dozens were injured in post-election protests.
