The public police force of Alajuela rescued two baby deer that they found during their rounds in the district of San Isidro. The animals, which were only a few weeks old, were found thanks to a call received by the police force.

The deer, a young male and female, have since been taken to the facilities of The Animal Rescue Zoo in Alajuela. There they will receive treatment and special care.  It was later confirmed by the police that both were found in excellent conditions, so a strong recovery is expected.

The police have yet to make a statement on the whereabouts of any potential mother deer, but is rare for these animals to be left alone at such a young age.
