The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The young Costa Rican surfer, Noe Mar McGonagle, proved to be one of the best surfers in Latin America, sweeping the Latin Pro Challenge in Chile, at the waves of Punta de Lobos.
The native from Pavones beach beat rivals from start to finish in the Open and Junior categories. Victory in the Junior sector was the most important of the day, as that allowed him to be crowned in the category to compete in a future competition in Nicaragua.
“I never dreamed of winning in two categories. But my goal was to come to this event and fight for the title Junior,” said McGonagle, “I am very happy to give Costa Rica a victory. I’ll keep fighting to move up in the Open and so I will do well in Nicaragua.”
The tico was crowned with a total of 9000 points, while the second and third place went to Brazil. The win is historic for Tico Costa Rican surfing and demonstrates the talent that exists.
