The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The Superintendent of Telecommunications (Sutel) announced a possible outage of home and mobile internet for this weekend.

This is because maintenance work will be carried out on the Cable System Maya -1, which is one of the main systems for the Internet in the country.

The network maintenance will be provided by the consortium that manages and operates the cable, not local operators.

Users may suffer interruptions from 10 pm on Friday until 6 am on Sunday.

According Sutel, they only expect a decrease in the service speed. However, there may be total intermittent interruptions in some cases.

The work includes ensuring the electrical infrastructure of the transport route and its platforms.
