The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Today the U.S. chain Hard Rock Cafe will officially open its first store in Costa Rica with a concert of four Costa Rican bands and U.S. group Smash Mouth, reported the event organizers.

The Hard Rock Cafe, 2,130 square meters, with two terraces and space for live music, opened its doors in Costa Rica in September, but today will be the opening concert and official opening.

To inaugurate the new headquarters they will perform famous songs like “Walking in the Sun” and “I’m a Believer,” an original song by the band The Monkeys which served as the official song for the animated movie Shrek.

Costa Rican rock bands that will be present are Percance, The Park, Gandhi, Pedro Capmany and Cafe con Leche.

The opening of the business will have more than 800 guests at the event whose contribution will go to the National Children’s Hospital of Costa Rica.

“We want to give back something to Costa Rica which has welcomed us with open arms, which is why we will donate funds raised within the party to the Burn Unit of the hospital,” said representative of Hard Rock Café Costa Rica, Gustavo Araya, in a statement.

The American company Hard Rock Cafe, which is known for its theme and collection of fashion and music-related merchandise, has a total of 174 venues in 54 countries, including cafes, hotels and casinos. (EFE)
