The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Foreign Ministers and government representatives from Latin America and the Caribbean will address the financial, economic and institutional cooperation with Italian authorities and companies in the VI Italy-Latin America and Caribbean Conference to be held this Thursday and Friday in Rome.
At this meeting, Representatives from 16 Latin American countries, the Caribbean, Italy, the European Commission, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the General Secretariat (SEGIB) and various companies and institutions will come together.
The Conference, entitled “Territorial Development and SMEs for Sustainable Growth, Integration and Social Cohesion”, will explore ways to strengthen ties and open cooperation and integration between Italy and the American continent.
Symposium speeches will be given by European Commission Vice President Antonio Tajani, and the foreign ministers of Mexico, Jose Antonio Meade, of Nicaragua, Samuel Santos, of Chile, Alfredo Moreno, of Argentina, Hector Timerman and Peru, Eda Adriana Rivas.
Also presenting is the minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of Brazil, Gilberto Carvalho, the Vice Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay, Luis Alberto Porto and Costa Rica, Gioconda Ubeda, and Italian Defense Minister, Mario Mauro.
It is expected that at the end of the session the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and ILAI will sign a “Memorandum of Understanding” for the participating SMEs of Italy and Latin America.
On Friday morning will be held the last two sessions. (EFE)
