Since yesterday, strong waves and high tides have been hammering the Costa Rica Central Pacific region, causing the National Emergency Commission (CNE) to maintains ha high alert status.
Reported by the locals, the tide began to rise and cause concern to the community in the Caldera region, where more than 30 families had to be moved to a shelter.
Red Cross emergency committee and the authorities are monitoring the conditions and ask neighbors and visitors to the area to stay away from the beach.
Authorities closed Route 23, off of Canyon, Puerto Caldera, due to rough seas.
