The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The National Emergency Commission (CNE) has issued a high tide and possible flood warning for the residents of coastal areas, especially in places like Barrio El Carmen, Puntarenas, and Quepos.

The strong waves are due to a low pressure system in the Caribbean that will begin to create choppy seas starting Tuesday. It’s expected that the waves will be over three feet high and continue through Monday, October 13.

In the South Pacific will be from Tuesday when the waves reach 2.4 meters by Friday could even reach 3.6 meters hazardous conditions for small craft.

Authorities recommend people to stay alert and use extreme caution when on the water in a small boat.
