The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – According to space.com, Siding Spring Comet was discovered on January 3, 2013 by astronomer Robert McNaught. Now the comet will pass close to the planet Mars, on Sunday, October 19.

For those fascinated with the stars and comets should prepare for this particular rendezvous. If the weather is good and you have a good telescope, there is a good chance of seeing it.

The comet was first seen by Mr. McNaught, who has discovered 82 other comets. McNaught discovered the comet using a 0.5-meter Uppsala Schmidt telescope, while at the Siding Spring Observatory in New South Wales, Australia. (Crhoy)
