The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The Golfito Hospital began a series of renovations valued at ¢250 million in their delivery room, maternity lounge, gynecology department and pediatrics, said the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) through a press release.
The works are expected to be complete by March 2014. Among the changes announced, the institution is replacing ceiling fans with air conditioning, and there will also be a space for handling bio-infectious waste.
Guillermo Mendieta, head of the Emergency department indicated the screened windows are not necessary and instead replace them with glass.
The investment will cover half the area of hospitalization and the half will be renovated in parts next year with a budget of around ¢500 million.
